🚨 SCAM ALERT: Fake DSD Tender from zikhona.sodika@dsdtenderrfq.online | “Requirement for Supplier to Deliver Goods”

Scammers are actively impersonating the Department of Social Development (DSD) using fraudulent email domains like @dsdtenderrfq.online to distribute fake Requests for Quotation (RFQs). One recent example uses the fake contact Zikhona Sodika with a fabricated RFQ email offering a supply opportunity for urgent goods delivery.

📧 Sample Scam Email

Subject: Requirement for Supplier to Deliver Goods

Dear Service Provider,

On behalf of the Department of Social Development (DSD), an exciting opportunity is presented to supply and deliver the requested product as indicated on the RFQ attachment.

… You may quote outside of your scope, as long as you can source and supply the product.

Email: zikhona.sodika@dsdtenderrfq.online
Delivery Address: HSRC Building, 134 Pretorius Street, North Wing, Pretoria, 0001
Closing Date: Within 3 working days

⚠️ Why This Is a Scam

🚩 Red Flag⚠️ Explanation
Fake domainThe domain @dsdtenderrfq.online is not an official government address (DSD uses @dsd.gov.za).
Open RFQ beyond scopeEncourages quoting outside your product expertise, common in scam setups.
Urgency + vague productCreates pressure with “urgent” timelines and generic items.
Unlisted tenderNo such RFQ is found on www.etenders.gov.za, the official portal for public sector bids.
Unverified contact

💸 How the Scam Works

  1. You receive an “RFQ” for goods like office supplies, cleaning equipment, medical tools, or electronics.

  2. You're told you don’t need to specialize in the product—just outsource and supply it.

  3. Once you quote, they issue a fake purchase order.

  4. You're asked to deliver items to a fake or redirected address.

  5. After delivery, the scammers vanish. You lose the goods and money.
